MuleSoft Agent Fabric is the public product name for a unified control plane in a Salesforce estate: CloudHub 2.0, Private Spaces, Flex Gateway, Omni Gateway. It fronts LLM calls and tool execution. On-behalf-of checks, token-bucket rate limits, and audit logging sit here so agents do not carry a private key into a prompt.
DataWeave is the canonical transform. IDP (Intelligent Document Processing) is the document lane: classify, extract, validate, then a named reviewer. Anypoint MQ buffers ingest and isolates dead letters. The AI Gateway meters tokens and can apply denied-topic and PII policies at runtime. Paid integration work stays on Integration Architecture . The governed front door is one front door .
Why it matters
Without a fabric, every agent is an integration project. Flex Gateway is how a policy can actually refuse a call. DataWeave is how seven different partner payloads become one schema the agent is allowed to see. IDP is how a PDF becomes a tool instead of a blob in context.
Board-level risk sits on the write this fabric allows or refuses. I run this across 200+ production agents. A private key in a prompt is how a demo becomes an incident.
In a generic org
A contract lands. IDP extracts parties and dates. DataWeave maps them onto the canonical account object. Anypoint MQ holds the batch if Data Cloud is slow. The AI Gateway routes a summarization call to a cheap model and a legal clause check to a frontier model. Flex Gateway stamps the client id. The CRM agent never sees the raw PDF bytes.
Stack
Documents into agents still need a named reviewer. That lane is files become tools only after review . MCP tools sit behind this fabric.
