For two decades, enterprise architecture treated the CRM org as the container of truth and workflow. That boundary is gone. Salesforce is a critical node: records, identity, Agentforce as a native runtime, Data Cloud as a system of context. It is not the whole plant. External runtimes, Slack, and the durable backbone sit beside it.
Agentforce and the Agentforce ADK cover CRM actions, qualification gates, and service escalation. They connect to external agents as A2A peers through the governed fabric. Data Cloud (Data 360) models canonical objects and Data Spaces for isolation. Hybrid vector search lives next to relational metadata, under Rate of Use limits. Apex, Change Data Capture, and Pub/Sub publish events without blocking the user. Flow still bridges point-and-click automation to headless runs. Why it matters
Agent-first delivery ships a worker before the store is governed. Split scope lands CRM in one queue and integration in another. Agentforce is the Salesforce runtime. The other four planes still have to sit around it.
Follow the work. A deterministic approval can stay in Flow. An adaptive research step can leave the org. The CRM still records the outcome. Identity is still a named person.
In a generic org
An opportunity changes stage. Pub/Sub emits the event. A durable workflow picks it up. A research agent writes a risk brief into working context. Agentforce proposes the next CRM action as the named owner. Data Space rules keep another tenant's records out of the prompt.
